Job summary

Banner Health in Tucson, AZ is seeking an experienced Nursing Associate Director to lead the surge space for Neurology PCU, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. You will collaborate with Stroke and Spine teams to maintain certifications and drive performance improvements.

The role requires strategic oversight, staffing management, and strong regulatory knowledge. This is a full-time day position with Monday–Friday hours and potential schedule flexibility to meet department needs.

Qualifications

• BSN or MSN required for all new hires.
• BSN required for internal transfers/promotions within 6 months of transfer/promotion.
• Requires a current RN license in state of practice.
• Requires BLS certification.
• Must possess a strong knowledge and understanding of clinical care management as normally demonstrated through two years of clinical management experience relevant to patient population.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills of specialty area.
• Requires familiarity with Alzheimer's disease and developmental disabilities in LTC settings.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card may be required depending on department.
• Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Manages and facilitates patient centered nursing care for designated populations, serving as real-time clinical expert for staff and physicians.
• Leads change by developing, implementing and evaluating quality and process improvement initiatives.
• Facilitates communication of system, regional, facility and department initiatives.
• Manages and develops operational and capital budgets and resource use.
• Develops staff leadership through shared leadership models and supports career advancement.
• Oversees selection, orientation, on-boarding, and retention of staff, fostering development.
• Manages large units to ensure excellent patient care and leads clinical improvement initiatives.
