Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Scheduling Specialist for the Operating Room at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond.

The role coordinates and schedules patient testing or procedures, interfacing with physician offices and departments to ensure timely scheduling and accurate data entry into the hospital system. Responsibilities include gathering and updating daily scheduling records, understanding provider payers, communicating across teams, and maintaining statistics for the department supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Associate degree in business, Healthcare, or related field (preferred)
• Combination of post-secondary education and experience in lieu of degree will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and schedules patient testing or procedures, including interacting with physician offices, other health care providers and staff to ensure patients are scheduled as soon as possible.
• Obtains scheduling orders, instructs patients, and enters data into the hospital computer system.
• Gathers, updates, and maintains daily records of scheduled patients.
• Maintains statistical data for department supervisor to determine scheduling volume, patient types and number of procedures.
