Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Wilmington, DE is seeking an Ophthalmology Technician to support the neuro-ophthalmology team. You will assist with patient care, perform imaging tests (OCT, fundus photos, visual fields) and help with the initial work-up before dilation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required. BLS within 60 days of start date.
• Two years ophthalmology/optometric experience or accredited ophthalmic program plus one year experience.
• JCAHPO COA/COT/COMT certification preferred; on-the-job training available.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and perform initial assessment as directed by physician.
• Perform diagnostic procedures.
• Instill topical medications into the eye.
• Enter clinical information into EPIC EMR.
• Assist the physician with the neuro-ophthalmologic examination.
• Educate patients and families as directed by the physician.
• Maintain patient-focused interactions and service excellence.
• Coordinate patient flow with neuro-ophthalmology team to ensure efficiency.
• Collaborate with health care team to deliver optimal patient care.
