Albany Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Neuro Progressive Care unit (D5E) on the Night shift. The PCA will collect patient data, provide personal care, perform point-of-care tests such as glucose, and assist with patient transitions toward discharge.

Responsibilities include assisting with eating, hydration, hygiene, and safe patient handling under RN supervision. Essential duties include documenting care, communicating status to the care team, and supporting a clean,

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Certified Nurse Assistant course preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and staff.

• Collects vital signs, height/weight, intake/output.
• Reports abnormal findings to RN and care team.
• Participates in care planning and nursing report process.
• Provides personal care (bathing, grooming, feeding, hydration).
• Assists with ambulation and safe patient handling.
