Job summary

Insight Institute of Neuroscience & Neurosurgery (IINN) is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support physicians and care teams in a fast-paced neurology and rehabilitation environment in Michigan. The MA will take vital signs, assist with examinations, enter data into the EMR, and help coordinate patient flow and communications.

Responsibilities include patient reminders, insurance authorizations, phone coverage, and ensuring patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• High school diploma or GED; healthcare/biology degree preferred
• CPR certification within 30 days of employment
• Strong customer service and patient care
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
• Excellent verbal and written English communication
• Prior healthcare experience and EMR familiarity preferred

Responsibilities

• Screen patients and record vital signs
• Perform data entry in the EMR system
• Maintain medical records and patient confidentiality
• Disinfect and clean room between patients
• Explain treatments to patients as needed
• Assist physician during examinations
• Answer phones and act as hospital operator
• Greet patients and manage scheduling and reminders
• Monitor supplies and assist with orders as needed
• Adhere to JCaho standards and hospital policies
