Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in Texas is seeking a Medical Assistant to assist providers in patient care, examinations, procedures and lab duties. You will document vitals, prepare patients, and support various clinics under physician supervision.

Prerequisites include a high school diploma or GED and completion of an MA program; certification within 12 months (AMT/AAMA/NHA/NAHP) and BLS/ CPR within 30 days of hire. Experience in Neurology or Neurosurgery is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and graduation from a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification by AMT or AAMA or NHA or NAHP required within 12 months of hire.
• Current BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers in patient care; support examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Perform venipuncture, urine tests and basic lab procedures following policies.
• Take vital signs and document in EMR; ensure patient readiness for examination.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness and supply management within department.
• Serve as preceptor/mentor and support department goals.
