Memorial Hermann is hiring a Medical Assistant to support providers across multiple clinics, performing examinations, procedures, and routine patient care under physician supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of a Medical Assistant program, with certification eligibility within 12 months. Strong communication and EMR skills are essential; phlebotomy experience is preferred for urgent care settings.

Qualificações

• Education: high school diploma or GED; completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Eligible for certification by AMT, AAMA, or NAHP within 12 months of hire.
• Six months of Medical Assistant experience or completion of externship.
• Urgent Care locations: Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate well and build positive relationships.
• Knowledge of ICD9/10 and CPT coding; insurance procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver care under physician supervision across multiple service lines (CCC, Urgent Care, Urology, etc.).
• Review charts prior to appointments to ensure required labs and reports are available.
• Record vital signs and document in EMR; assist with examinations and procedures.
• Assist in patient access tasks and handle phone messages to patients/pharmacies.
• Prepare patients for examinations; notify provider of arrival and readiness.
