Michigan Medicine is seeking a Research Lab Technician (Associate/Intermediate) to join the Kaczorowski Lab, focusing on neurodegenerative disease mechanisms using transgenic mouse models. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 1-2 years related field.
• Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years or 2-3 years related field.
• 1+ year direct experience with in vivo mouse handling.

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will participate in animal handling, animal behavior assays, mouse genotyping, immunohistochemistry, and assisting with the management of transgenic mouse colonies.
• Maintain lab organization and record information daily in a lab notebook.
• Assist with experiments involving mouse handling and behavior assays.
• Support maintenance and organization of mouse colonies including genotyping and crosses.
• Aid in mouse tissue dissection and preparation for downstream applications.
• Demonstrate proficiency with laboratory protocols and equipment or learn quickly.
• Present data in periodic research discussions and collaborate on plans.
• Monitor instruments and perform routine maintenance as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned per lab needs.
