Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree OR 1-2 years of experience in a related field.
• 1+ year of direct experience with in vivo mouse handling in a research setting.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis (training will be provided)

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will participate in animal handling, animal behavior assays, mouse genotyping, immunohistochemistry, and assisting with the management of transgenic mouse colonies.
• Maintain lab organization and record all information, daily, in an official laboratory notebook.
• Assist with experiments that involve mouse handling and animal behavior assays.
• Support the maintenance and organization of mouse colonies, including involvement in genotyping and genetic crosses.
• Aid in mouse tissue dissection and preparation for downstream applications.
• Demonstrate proficiency with laboratory protocols, equipment operation, and standard techniques, or show aptitude to learn these quickly.
• Participate and present data in periodic research discussions.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and achieve short and long range plans.
• Monitor laboratory instrumentation, ensuring proper functioning and performing routine maintenance as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, according to research or lab needs.
