A full‑time research technician position is available in the Kaczorowski lab in the Department of Neurology at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The lab focuses on rodent modeling of neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease and Huntington’s disease. The successful applicant will serve as the lab’s research colony manager, overseeing transgenic mouse colonies, animal care, behavioral assays, genotyping, and weaning. The role also involves mentoring undergraduate research assistants and junior technicians, and providing training and guidance as needed.
Both levels require at least 2 years of hands‑on experience in mouse handling and husbandry, including weaning, genotyping, routine cage maintenance, and health monitoring.
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment.
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
