Job summary

TriHealth invites applications for a Neuro ICU RN at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. The role focuses on high-acuity neurocritical care, critical care monitoring, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based care.

New graduates may be considered for NeuroStepdown, with BSN requirement within five years. On-site, 36‑hour weekly schedule with day shift and weekend incentives available.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
• Active RN license.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• New hires must obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.
• Strong foundation in nursing sciences across the life cycle.
• Membership in related professional organization (preferred).
• 1+ year full‑time (or 2+ years part‑time) acute care RN experience (preferred).
• Specialty certification (neuroscience or critical care) (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing assessment of patient and family. Documents ongoing assessment per unit/TriHealth guidelines. Communicates assessment findings to other health care providers as appropriate.
• Plans care for patient and family based on assessment, standards of care, and optimal specific outcomes. Initiates and individualizes appropriate patient care guidelines/plan of care or clinical pathways.
• Provides a safe, therapeutic environment, maintains patient’s autonomy, dignity, and rights, and is sensitive to patient diversity.
• Recognizes emergency situations and takes appropriate action.
• Communicates plan of care to others and supports the healthcare team.
• Trains/educates other staff and acts as an expert resource in specialty area.
• Evaluates the plan of care for patient based on outcomes and revises as needed.
