Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred, must obtain within 8 years of hire.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing for the state of Michigan.
• BLS certification required by completion of core orientation.
• Critical care or ALS certifications may be required for some RNs.
• BSN within 8 years of hire for Bronson South Haven site; other site specifics may apply.
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from various computer systems and equipment to inform care planning.
• Must communicate verbally, in writing and electronically; capable of using an EHR.
• Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and sustained concentration.

Responsibilities

• The RN collects comprehensive data pertinent to patients’ health and situation.
• Assess and diagnose using the nursing process and develop care plans.
• Coordinate discharge planning for outcomes not achieved.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per policy.
• Document patient responses and outcomes; provide patient education.
• Delegate tasks to appropriate staff while ensuring safety and quality care.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and ongoing education.
