UVA Health's Neuro Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit (NNICU) seeks an RN energized by complexity and collaboration, dedicated to delivering exceptional care to critically ill neurology patients. You will work with advanced monitoring, multidisciplinary teams, and cutting-edge therapies to build neuroscience nursing expertise.

As part of a high-acuity unit, you’ll engage in continuous learning, participate in innovative care delivery, and support patients and families through complex treatment

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing within 5 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive neurological and patient assessments.
• Provide continuous monitoring and management of critically ill patients.
• Manage complex neurological conditions and rapidly changing patient statuses.
• Coordinate care with physicians, APPs, therapists, and other team members.
• Educate patients and families throughout the care journey.
• Assist with specialized bedside procedures and advanced neurological interventions.
• Manage External Ventricular Drains (EVDs) and lumbar puncture procedures.
• Transport patients for CT, MRI, and Interventional Radiology.
• Participate in quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives.
