Job summary

UVA Health in Virginia is seeking an RN for the Neuro Intermediate Care Unit (6 North) to provide hands-on care in a specialized neurologic setting. You will support patients transitioning from critical illness to recovery, balancing patient interaction with technical skill and clinical complexity.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with BSN required or expected within 5 years of hire.
• At least 1 year of RN experience in neuroscience or critical care.
• Virginia RN license and AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver bedside care for patients needing step‑down neurologic monitoring.
• Perform frequent neurologic assessments and escalate changes promptly.
• Collaborate with neurology, neurosurgery, and neurocritical care teams.
• Administer medications and therapies with precision in a neuro‑focused setting.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery expectations.
• Contribute to a culture of communication, accountability, and learning.
