Job summary

VCU Health System Authority seeks a Patient Care Technician to provide direct, age-appropriate care under RN supervision in the NSICU. You will monitor patients, assist with hygiene, mobility, and daily living activities, and help maintain a safe, well-stocked environment.

The role requires a High School degree (or equivalent), and preferably CNA certification with BLS/CPR. Prior healthcare exposure is valued, and the unit emphasizes compassionate, quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
• Licensure: BLS/CPR certification (AHA BLS HCP or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, direct patient care and monitor patient conditions with age-appropriate care.
• Assist with activities of daily living, hygiene, feeding, and mobility as directed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and stocked clinical space per policy.
• Record patient information and vital signs; report changes to RN or physician.
• Support patient experience and communicate with health care team promptly.
