Job summary

Baystate Health’s Daly 5A Neurosciences unit in Springfield, MA seeks a Patient Care Technician to provide direct patient care, monitor vital signs, assist with procedures, and support RNs in a fast-paced neuro-oncology setting. This role supports a 36-hour week with 7am-7pm shifts and rotating weekends/holidays, requiring CPR-BLS and strong teamwork.

Candidates must have PCT or CNA training, a high school diploma or GED, and be prepared to work across neuro-specific care activities including

Qualifications

• This position is part of a career ladder with levels and required certifications.
• Level I requires PCT/CNA training or equivalent; Level II/III/IV require increasing patient care experience and BLS CPR.
• CPR certification through American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides age-appropriate care to patients.
• Monitors basic physiological parameters and vital signs.
• Assists with procedures and exams and supports RN.
• Documents treatments and activities accurately and timely.
• Maintains patient safety and communicates effectively with the team.
