Job summary

Baystate Health in Springfield, MA is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for a night shift on the South Wing 6 General Surgery unit. You will perform bedside care, monitor vitals, assist with phlebotomy and EKGs, and support the nursing team.

CPR/BLS is required and a resume may be requested to determine experience. Responsibilities include maintaining patient safety, dignity, and effective communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• PCT training or CNA training required or preferred.
• BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association required.
• Excellent communication and composure under pressure.
• Reading and writing in English proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate patient care and monitor vital signs.
• Assist with hygiene, mobility, and routine activities on the unit.
• Assist with phlebotomy and EKGs and support procedures.
• Support nurses with equipment, documentation, and patient safety.
• Collaborate with team and communicate care plans clearly.
