Job summary
The Allen Institute, a leading neuroscience research organization in Washington, seeks a Software Engineer III to develop and sustain scientific analysis software used by scientists worldwide. You will collaborate with computational scientists to accelerate data collection and processing of large-scale neurophysiology data, while mentoring others in software best practices.
Responsibilities include testing, code reviews, deployment and monitoring of core services in cloud and on-prem
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is required.
- 3+ years of relevant experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of modern software development practices (testing, reviews, documentation) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to sustainably develop scientific analysis software.
- Follow team software best practices: write unit/integration tests, code reviews, issue tracking, versioning, and documentation.
- Deploy, maintain, and monitor core services in cloud and on-premise data centers.
- Build and deploy end-to-end testing infrastructure for data processing pipelines.
