Job summary

The Allen Institute is seeking a Software Engineer III for the Neural Dynamics team in Washington state. You will collaborate with scientists to develop sustainable scientific analysis software and deploy data pipelines both in the cloud and on-premise environments.

You will mentor peers, implement best practices, and contribute to open-source visualization tools used by the Institute and the broader neuroscience community. Significant experience with Python and AWS is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of Python and software engineering best practices (tests, reviews, docs).

• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to sustainably develop scientific analysis software.
• Follow team software best practices: tests, reviews, issue tracking, versioning, docs.
• Deploy, maintain, monitor core services in cloud and on-premise data centers.
