An employer is seeking a Network & Voice Engineer for a hybrid, direct-hire opportunity. This individual will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the organization's network, voice, and unified communications infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across all environments. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience supporting enterprise network technologies, including LAN/WAN/WLAN, VPNs, routing, switching, firewalls, and multi‑site connectivity, as well as expertise with voice platforms, SIP trunking, SBCs, call routing, and unified communications solutions. The breakdown would be roughly 80% networking related and 20% telephony. The firm is using the Zoom phone system, which is largely managed by the vendor, but the candidate should have some basic knowledge on the fundamentals of telephony and voice systems. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills in complex network and telephony environments and will serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for critical issues. Additional responsibilities include driving security and compliance initiatives, supporting disaster recovery and business continuity planning, managing vendor and ISP relationships, maintaining technical documentation, and contributing to network architecture, capacity planning, technology roadmaps, and infrastructure optimization efforts. Some of the upcoming projects the firm is working on include Network Refresh projects, where this person will get to have direct ownership in some design, vendor communication, and hands on aspects. Candidates should be comfortable participating in after‑hours support as needed.
