Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Network and Telecommunications Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise-wide network and telecom systems. You will ensure security, reliability, and scalable performance across on-premises and cloud environments.

The role involves collaboration with IT teams and vendors, documentation maintenance, and up to 25% travel for project work. Minimum CCNA/CCDA, cloud migration experience, and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of relevant experience in networking or IT.
• CCNA and/or CCDA certification required; CCNP is a plus.
• Experience with cloud migrations and network security via VPN/firewall.
• Strong technical, analytical and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational ability with multiple priorities.
• Willingness to respond to staff needs and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise design, build, and administration of network platforms for stability, scalability, and performance.
• Manage routing (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF), switching, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SD-WAN, wireless, and VoIP.
• Support multi-cloud networking (AWS, Azure) with security groups and NSGs.
• Use monitoring tools to evaluate performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain reliability.
• Create and maintain documentation; mentor peers and coordinate with Security and EA teams.
• Provide on-site support with up to 25% travel as required.
