Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Network and Telecommunications Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise-wide network and telecom systems. You will manage network stability, security, and performance across on‑premises and cloud services, collaborating with IT teams and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, Information Technology Management, or related field; 2+ years of experience, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise network design, build, and administration for stability, scalability, and performance (Cisco a plus).
• Manage and optimize enterprise networks across routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SD-WAN, wireless, and VoIP.
• Support multi-cloud networking (AWS, Azure) with security groups and NSGs.
• Use monitoring tools (Cisco DNA, SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, Wireshark) to evaluate performance and troubleshoot.
• Automate network processes with orchestration tools (Ansible).
• Provide on-site support and project implementation with travel as required.
• Maintain documentation of network design, standards, and procedures.
