Job summary

The House of Representatives is seeking a Network Technician within the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer to support the Network Engineering and Operations Directorate. You will help ensure reliable connectivity for the House Data Network across the Capitol complex, district offices, and disaster recovery sites.

Responsibilities include problem management, first-level diagnostics, on-site installation/repair, and emergency communications coordination.

Qualifications

• Assist with monitoring the network operational support of the House network infrastructure.
• Provide network problem management and coordination as “problem coordinator” including logging/tracking problems, first-level diagnostics, on-site support, problem escalation, and problem closure.
• Provide on-site diagnostic support for all House networks.
• Install House network connectivity for Members, Committee, and House support offices.
• Maintain current diagrams of network components and fiber optic cabling in assigned areas.
• Provide 24x7 on-site support and ECC duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the network operational support to ensure reliable and dependable connectivity to the House Data Network across the campus, 820+ district offices, and BC/DR sites.
• Serve as Emergency Communications Center (ECC) designee following CAO policies in case of major incidents.
• Coordinate with USCP and House staff to notify designated personnel and manage communications during emergencies.
• Maintain and follow operational procedures, provide management status reports, and support Member office moves each Congress.
