Job description

Position Title: Computer Network Technician, Permanent Support Staff

Level of Employment: Support Staff – CRESPA

Employment Classification: Full Time – Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Reports to: Director of Educational Innovation and Strategic Engagement

Summary

Network Technicians provide complex, technical support for computer and network systems, carrying out novel and/or complex assignments that require developing new or improved techniques and procedures. The Network Engineer will primarily support the network infrastructure, including Windows servers, Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS, SharePoint, .NET, ADO, Terminal Services, Citrix, SMS, MOM, and Veritas backup. Responsibilities also include day-to-day maintenance of the network, wireless network, Call Manager, and VoIP telephones, along with installation and configuration of new servers and network equipment.

Education and Experience
  • College degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in support roles or related professional experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Manage and support digital communications reflecting the District’s mission and values.
  2. Assist in managing the District website and communication platforms, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and timeliness.
  3. Support staff and user groups with website access, permissions, and application integration.
  4. Monitor communication platforms for professionalism and presentation standards.
  5. Keep the District website updated with accurate and accessible information.
  6. Provide clear, responsive communication during urgent situations.
  7. Promote district activities through web, social media, CR TV, and other platforms.
  8. Research and implement best practices for digital engagement.
  9. Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize web tools and messaging.
  10. Design and develop website interfaces and navigation tools.
  11. Assist users and webmasters in content management.
  12. Build relationships with community groups to enhance communication.
  13. Install, configure, and maintain servers and network hardware/software.
  14. Support endpoint platforms and troubleshoot network issues.
  15. Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and network performance.
  16. Document support activities and develop technical instructions.
  17. Read manuals, conduct diagnostics, and resolve IT issues with users.
  18. Develop and deliver staff training on relevant systems and policies.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, 261-day position, primarily Monday through Friday, with possible evening/weekend work as needed.

  • FBI Fingerprints (Act 114) through IdentoGo

Additional paperwork includes arrest/conviction reports, PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure (Act 168), health forms, and TB test results.
