Job summary

Aspen Fiber Networks in Houston seeks a proactive Network Support Specialist to diagnose and resolve client network issues, install and configure equipment, and provide training on network usage.

You will work with clients and internal teams, document resolutions, stay current with networking tech, and contribute to improving network reliability and performance. A relevant degree and hands-on experience are required, with certifications a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in network support or technical support role.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and related network protocols.
• Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and other network equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA) are a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support client network systems to ensure smooth operation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues reported by clients.
• Assist in the installation and configuration of network equipment.
• Provide technical guidance and support to clients and internal teams.
• Document and maintain records of network support activities and resolutions.
• Stay updated on networking technologies and industry best practices.
• Participate in the training of clients on network usage and best practices.
• Collaborate with network engineers to implement solutions for network enhancements.
