Everforth Apex is seeking a Network & Cloud Operations Engineer for a 2nd shift (Tues-Sat) to support a large-scale enterprise environment. You will focus on network operations, firewall administration, incident response, and overnight support while contributing to automation and monitoring initiatives.

The role involves collaboration with offshore teams, design discussions on observability, and projects involving API integrations and ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Network Operations, Infrastructure or Cloud Operations.
• Experience supporting enterprise firewall environments, preferably Palo Alto Networks.
• Proficiency with Python or another scripting language.
• Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP.

Network & Cloud Operations Engineer (2nd Shift, Tues-Sat)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Network & Cloud Operations Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise infrastructure environment. This role will primarily focus on network operations, firewall administration, incident response, and operational support during overnight hours, while also contributing to strategic engineering initiatives involving automation, monitoring, alerting, and platform integrations.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Incident Management (60-70%)

• Monitor and support enterprise network infrastructure during overnight operations.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, security, and firewall-related incidents.
• Implement and validate firewall changes in accordance with change management processes.
• Participate in bridge calls and incident response activities, coordinating with offshore support teams and stakeholders.
• Analyze and resolve production issues impacting application and infrastructure availability.
• Review logs, alerts, and monitoring data to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Escalate critical issues appropriately and provide clear operational status updates.

Engineering & Project Work (30-40%)

• Partner with software development teams to improve monitoring, alerting, and operational tooling.
• Support projects involving API integrations and enterprise service management platforms such as ServiceNow.
• Contribute to automation efforts focused on operational efficiency and incident reduction.
• Assist with cloud infrastructure initiatives and platform enhancements.
• Participate in design discussions and implementation of monitoring and observability solutions.
• Support ongoing modernization efforts and operational excellence initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Network Operations, Infrastructure Engineering, Cloud Operations, or a related field.
• Experience supporting enterprise firewall environments, preferably Palo Alto Networks.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including:
• TCP/IP
• DNS
• Routing and Switching
• VPNs
• Load Balancing
• Network Troubleshooting
• Experience working within AWS or another major cloud platform (Azure or GCP).
• Proficiency in Python or another scripting/programming language.
• Experience supporting production incidents and participating in bridge calls.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues across infrastructure, network, and application layers.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with globally distributed teams.
• Willingness to work a night shift schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ServiceNow integrations or ITSM processes.
• Exposure to APIs, automation frameworks, and infrastructure tooling.
• Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and alerting platforms.
• Understanding of AI-enabled operational tools and emerging AI technologies.
• Experience working in highly regulated enterprise environments.
• Exposure to DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering practices.
