Job summary

County IT Department is seeking a PC/Network Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware and software, ensure network stability, and support workstations across county facilities. The role requires evaluating equipment and supporting routers, switches, and servers with limited supervision from the IT Director.

Qualified candidates will have an Associates/Technical degree in computer science or related field and minimal experience in installation and repair of computer

Qualifications

• General knowledge of personal computer systems, software and programs.
• General knowledge of networking concepts and PC system operations.
• Ability to follow written and oral procedures and instructions; troubleshoot related hardware/software problems.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains and troubleshoots computer hardware and software including Office Suite, drives, NICs and motherboards.
• Installs and supports peripheral equipment and scanners; configures printers and backups.
• Maintains and tests network equipment and servers; manages user permissions and file access.
• Researches and tests new software/hardware and monitors installations.
