Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) seeks a Network Operations Manager to coordinate operational activities across the hospital and its network of community practices. Reporting to the Director of Network Operations, the role centers on referrals, care transitions, and access to specialty and inpatient services.

You will lead initiatives for data integration, process improvement, and collaboration across BMCHS, Boston HealthNet, Population Health, and Epic teams to ensure efficient, high‑quality patient

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with at least 5 years in healthcare operations, patient access, referral management, or ambulatory practice management
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles
• Experience with Epic or similar EHR systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary operational contact for network provider offices related to referrals, patient access and care transitions
• Streamline referral workflows and scheduling processes with providers, schedulers, and hospital departments
• Coordinate transitions of care between network practices and the hospital; support post-discharge follow-up workflows
• Provide EHR/CareLink support and training; coordinate onboarding and issue resolution for network users
• Distribute updates on processes and system changes to provider offices; promote two-way communication
• Track referrals, care transitions, and access metrics; identify trends and drive improvements
• Lead or support operational initiatives related to EHR transitions and network improvements
• Facilitate collaboration across hospital departments and community practices
