Job summary

The University of Houston Technology Services & Support is seeking an experienced network professional to design, install, and maintain enterprise LAN/WAN and wireless networks for voice, data, and video services.

The role requires monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving network issues, developing standards, and leading project teams. Security awareness and on-call rotations may be required; a 4-year degree or equivalent experience is considered.

Qualifications

• Designs, installs, supports and maintains complex LAN/WAN and/or Wireless networks.
• Monitors performance, utilization and availability of LAN/WAN and/or Wireless networks.
• Identifies, diagnoses and resolves network problems related to failure/integrity.
• Develops, recommends and implements network standards and policies; monitors compliance.
• Evaluates and recommends networking products and software upgrades.
• Compiles performance metrics and provides reports to management.
• Consults with Network Operations staff and may lead technical support staff.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
