Job summary

Encore Talent Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer II to support enterprise network design, implementation, maintenance, and operational support across physical and virtual environments. You will partner with technical and business teams to deliver scalable networking solutions and troubleshoot complex issues.

The role includes Tier 3 escalation, developing infrastructure standards, documentation, and leading technical initiatives.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Network Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco Catalyst network infrastructure.
• Experience with routing and switching technologies including LAN/WAN, VLANs, BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.
• Understanding of wireless networking technologies and network security standards.
• Experience with routers, switches, cabling, and network testing equipment.
• Familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as SNMP, Wireshark, and ThousandEyes.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily prioritization of work to ensure project and incident SLA requirements are met.
• Install, configure, and maintain enterprise wired and wireless network infrastructure.
• Support campus-wide LAN/WAN, VLAN, routing, switching, and wireless networking environments.
• Troubleshoot network outages, performance issues, and infrastructure-related incidents.
• Provide Tier 3 support and escalation assistance for technical teams.
• Assist in evaluating and recommending networking technologies and enterprise solutions.
• Create and maintain detailed network diagrams, configurations, standards, and documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal IT teams on implementation and support activities.
• Participate in operational support, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
• Lead technical initiatives and provide guidance to junior team members as needed.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and support after-hours maintenance activities when required.

This role partners with technical and non-technical teams to deliver scalable networking solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and support enterprise-wide initiatives. The position also provides Tier 3 escalation support, contributes to infrastructure standards and documentation, and participates in technical project leadership.
