The Network Operations Engineer provides advanced level technical support of network hardware, software, and services to ensure that DoIT provides the most efficient network connectivity possible. The division helps move the university forward through technology solutions designed collaboratively with the community to enable innovation, support scholarship, and equip the university with high-quality, sustainable technologies and services. The Network Operations group is responsible for configuring and troubleshooting Cisco network switches and Palo Alto firewalls, configuring Citrix load‑balancers, troubleshooting user wireless connectivity, and following up on daily reports and alarms as necessary. The Network Operations Engineer serves as a liaison between Network Services and campus departmental technical support staff.

In addition to required qualifications, the most qualified candidates may also have the following preferred qualification:
Full Time: 100% – Hybrid: The candidate selected for this position may perform a combination of on‑site and remote work subject to an approved remote work agreement (RWA). Remote work requires successful candidates to possess their own high‑speed internet and phone to perform the work on a university‑provided computer. Per University policy, transportation between home and assigned work location is not payable/reimbursable and will be at the employee’s expense.

Minimum $85,000 ANNUAL (12 months). Depending on qualifications, starting salary will be based on experience and qualifications. Well qualified applicants can anticipate earning between $85,000 – $95,000, with final salary based on experience and qualifications.
Successful applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, on or before the effective date of appointment. University sponsorship is not available for this position. This position requires on call and/or work outside of normal business hours to include holidays and weekends. Candidates must be eligible for and maintain Select Agent clearance. Must be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 lbs. unassisted, to stand, stoop, twist and bend as needed to carry out assigned duties.
