Job summary

Responsibilities

• Respond to alarms, assess impact, troubleshoot, and restore service.
• Provide Level 1 support for switches, routers, firewalls, WAN links.
• Escalate incidents with clear findings to senior staff and partners.
• Provide timely, accurate updates to stakeholders with good service.
• Create incident records, runbooks, diagrams, and cabling docs.
• Support installations, deployments, testing, and projects.
• Protect information and follow security and incident response standards.

Job description

UPMC is looking for a NOC (Network Operations Center) Analyst Associate to join their team. This role will be Fully on-site supporting our Forbes Tower location (WFH technology available for short -term or emergency needs. Will only be accepting candidates within the PA area since this role will be ON-SITE at our Freeport Datacenter.

This role will work a series of rotation shifts to include

• Daylight (7a-3:30p)
• Afternoon (2pm - 12pm)
• Overnight (10pm - 8am) and weekend coverage on 12-hour shifts (noon - midnight and opposite)

Description

The NOC Analyst Associate provides first-line operational support in UPMC's 24x7x365 Network Operations Center,monitoringenterprise data and voicenetworksand responding to alerts, outages, and performance issues. Working in a large, multi-vendor environment, the analyst uses enterprise monitoring and diagnostic tools toidentifyimpact, perform initial troubleshooting, document findings, communicate status, and upscale issues to senior NOC staff, engineering teams, carriers, and vendors when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor enterprise data and voice networks using StableNet,
• NokiaWaveSuite/NFM-P, Splunk, Palo Alto Panorama, and related tools.
• Respond to alarms, outages, and abnormal conditions; assess impact, perform initial troubleshooting, and restore service when possible.
• Provide Level 1 support for switches, routers, firewalls, WAN circuits, and related network infrastructure.
• Escalate incidents with clear technical findings and coordinate testing and repair with network engineers, telecom carriers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Communicatetimely,accurateupdates to technical and non-technical stakeholders while delivering strong customer service.
• Create andmaintainincident records, procedures, troubleshooting guides, network diagrams, and data center cabling/fiber documentation.
• Support network equipment installations, deployments, testing, and other operational projects as assigned.
• Protect confidential information, follow security and incident response standards, andparticipatein ongoing training and mentorship.
