TEKsystems is currently seeking a NOC Technician to focus on Network Monitoring and Ticket Resolution for a 3 month+ contract opening.

Qualifications

• CCNA preferred or equivalent experience
• Skills:
• CCNA, OSI model, Troubleshooting, Support, Ticketing system or Network Monitoring experience
• Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Tier 1 Monitoring/Intake Techs
• HFC / Cable Modem / Harmonic related items
• Willingness to train in specific tasks and handle other duties based on work volume

Job Description

The NOC Technician will provide surveillance, management, troubleshooting, and resolution of the company's Wireless Radio Access Network (RAN) and Core Transport Network to ensure high network availability, restore service, and minimize field technician calls.

Essential Duties

1. Monitor network elements, investigate alarms, troubleshoot, and perform corrective maintenance. Respond to outages and initiate disaster recovery when needed.
2. Provide technical training and oversight to junior technicians, using network events as teaching opportunities.
3. Interact professionally with customers, employees, and vendors to resolve issues efficiently.
4. Compile reports on network status, submit notifications, and perform other duties to maintain network operation.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of DOS/Windows/UNIX/OpenView and related applications
• Ability to train and guide less experienced personnel
• Strong interpersonal skills, stress management, and professionalism
• Self-initiative with the ability to prioritize and make decisions

Minimum Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in telecommunications
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Associate's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field, or relevant experience
• Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and good driving record (if applicable)

Pay and Benefits

The hourly pay range is $20.00 - $25.00. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation, EAP, PTO, and more, depending on eligibility.
