Job summary

The State of Indiana's Indiana Office of Technology (IOT) is seeking a Network Engineer Manager to lead the network team across executive branch agencies. The role oversees design, configuration, implementation, monitoring, and support for data and voice networks, remote access, wireless, and security systems.

Responsibilities include supervising 6–8 staff, managing budgets and performance, ensuring network availability, and mentoring the identity management system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology or related field with a minimum of 5 years of networking experience.
• Certification as a Cisco Certified Network Associate or possession of associated skill level is highly preferred.
• Experience working with Cisco routing, switching, wireless, remote access and/or identity management systems.
• Must have advanced knowledge of routing, switching, remote access and wireless protocols.
• A degree is not required; however, 5+ years of applicable experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Supervise 6–8 network engineers, technicians, and analysts.
• Manage and supervise time, expenses, and employee performance.
• Ensure the availability and integrity of the State of Indiana data and voice network.
• Ensure support for remote access, wireless networks, identity management and control systems, VPN.
• Mentor the identity management system and its reports.
• Analyze trends and usage to maintain and expand network services.
• Implement changes to maintain service and coordinate repairs.
• Assist staff with fault management and incident response.
• Provide on‑call support on a rotation basis.
