Job summary

Indiana University is seeking an Advanced Network Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize campus network infrastructure across Indiana. The role demands 5+ years in network engineering and a Bachelor’s degree, with strong communication skills and hands-on experience in large-scale networks and security.

You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with customers, partners, and vendors to deliver reliable, scalable services across IU campuses.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (preferred in CS, IS, or related field).
5 years of network engineering or related experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical solutions to non-specialists.
Maintains professionalism and quality under pressure.
Ability to work independently on large, cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

Establishes and standardizes procedures for network design, evaluation, deployment of hardware/software with advanced expertise.
Provides network operational support and resolves complex issues.
Conducts systems studies to support growth of IU-managed networks and improves performance and reliability.
Leads network implementation and upgrade planning; justifies purchases and ensures successful deployment.
Leads project teams in design sessions with clients to meet goals and analyzes design solutions.
Collaborates with customers, partners, and vendors to deliver networks on time and to requirements.
Mentors and develops junior engineers.
