Job summary

Indiana University’s GlobalNOC is seeking an entry-level UITS Software & Network Engineer to design, deploy, configure, and troubleshoot WANs, data centers, firewalls, and VPNs across national networks. You'll work with Juniper, Cisco, and Ciena hardware and support cross-campus clients in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration, documentation, and continuous learning, with hybrid work from Bloomington and occasional travel to client sites in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
• Some experience in network engineering or related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements customer migrations and new deployments following change procedures to mitigate customer impact and downtime.
• Helps handle network emergencies, troubleshoot connectivity issues, answer trouble tickets, and participate in rotating on-call.
• Helps create accurate documentation and entries in our DB for network management.
• Role requires breadth and developing depth in all network layers, security, network hardware, and customer experience to deliver optimal solutions.
• Communicates well across Engineering, Service Desk, Systems/Software, and Project Management, as well as customer organizations.
