Job summary

MANTECH is seeking a motivated Network Engineer to design, maintain, and secure LAN, WAN, WLAN and VPN networks in McLean, VA. You will ensure optimal performance, troubleshoot tier-3 issues, and collaborate with IT teams while adapting to new technologies.

The ideal candidate has extensive network engineering experience, strong TCP/IP and security knowledge, and hands-on hardware experience with Cisco/Juniper/Fortinet systems. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

8+ years of related network experience in customer environments.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and security protocols.
Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet or similar networking hardware.
Proficiency with network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, and deploy LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN and related network infrastructure.
Maintain and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers; resolve tier-3 issues.
Monitor performance, plan capacity, and upgrade for uptime.
Configure security measures including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access controls.
Collaborate with IT teams to integrate networks with servers, applications, cloud services, and maintain docs.
Local travel between customer buildings or alternate locations for special projects.
Work in 8-hour shifts scheduled between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
