Job summary

Citizens Bank is seeking a Network Engineer Intern for the 2027 Enterprise Technology & Security Summer Internship Program. Based in Johnston, RI (and other HQs), you will work with network teams to gain hands-on experience across enterprise connectivity, automation, and security.

In 10 weeks you will learn firewall and proxy concepts, monitor network health, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, with mentorship and exposure to leadership.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or related field.
• Strong fundamentals in programming and software development.
• Willingness to learn networking concepts and security basics.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to maintaining secure connectivity solutions across the enterprise.
• Document and analyze network performance trends and health.
• Collaborate with network engineers, architects, cybersecurity, cloud, and operations teams.
• Explore network security tools like firewalls and proxies.
• Develop troubleshooting skills for network availability.
• Learn automation, infrastructure-as-code, and observability initiatives.
