Job summary

VIP (Vermont Information Processing) seeks an experienced IT Networking Engineer III to design, implement, and maintain enterprise and cloud network infrastructure. This role supports 24x7 operations across on-prem and cloud, collaborating with DevOps, IT Security, and other teams to deliver secure, high-performance connectivity for distributors, suppliers, and retailers.

You will build and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and cloud networking across AWS, Azure, GCP, and more, while

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent certifications accepted
• 7+ years of network engineering experience in enterprise environments
• Solid OSI, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IPsec, SSL/TLS security knowledge
• Hands-on with routers, switches, firewalls, wireless systems; monitoring tools
• Cloud networking experience (AWS, Azure, GCP, DigitalOcean)
• Automation scripting (Ansible or Python)
• CCNP, AWS Advanced Networking or equivalent certification is a plus
• Terraform or similar IaC experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and support routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless infra
• Implement routing, switching, and overlay tech (BGP, VLANs, STP, QoS, EVPN/VXLAN)
• Manage Palo Alto firewalls across locations (BGP, ACLs, policy)
• Design and support cloud/hybrid connectivity (AWS, Azure, GCP, DigitalOcean)
• Lead network architecture initiatives to meet business needs
• Automate config and monitoring (Ansible)
• Plan and implement network changes under change control
• Monitor and respond to network and security alerts
• Maintain network docs, diagrams, procedures
• Mentor junior team members and serve as escalation point
