Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Network Engineer II to implement and support complex network solutions across LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless environments. The role includes incident resolution, documentation, performance monitoring, and tier‑2 support in a hybrid office setting.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree (or 6+ years of related experience in lieu) and strong TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP knowledge, plus CCNA or SD‑WAN experience. Top Secret/SCI eligibility is required for this position.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; 2+ years in network engineering or related field.
In absence of degree, a minimum of 6 years of related experience is required.
Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and network protocols.

Responsibilities

Implement complex network solutions (LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi) and VPNs; document architectures.
Diagnose and resolve escalated network issues across hardware and software.
Provide tier‑2 support for incidents and service requests; monitor performance.
Ensure security measures (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs) and regulatory compliance.
Maintain detailed network configuration docs and generate performance reports.
Mentor junior engineers and conduct knowledge sharing.
