Job summary

Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) seeks an Implementations / Activations Network Engineer II to oversee installation, configuration, testing and monitoring of network equipment for DoD projects. The role supports DISA-provided capabilities and services within GSMO-II and requires working with customers, architects and vendors.

The candidate will manage activations, coordinate with vendors, and ensure changes meet DISA standards while maintaining strong documentation and communication

Qualifications

• Active Secret Security Clearance required.
• DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) at start date.
• BS degree and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with network services (BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WAN, VPN, VLAN, VRF) and network appliances (routers, load balancers, firewalls).
• Knowledge of data and voice network design across transmissions systems and protocols such as BGP and ISIS.
• Ability to work in a team environment but self-driven to complete assignments.
• Strong written and verbal communications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate customer activation with IT&A and data input per DISA standards.
• Work with customers, solution architects and SMEs to implement changes and resolve issues.
• Manage Service Orders per Change Management procedures.
• Ensure TSOs are in place for scheduled network additions and changes.
• Analyze DISN and databases to validate customer requirements.
• Design and implement network solutions through testing and configuration changes.
• Coordinate activation with vendors for end-to-end connectivity.
• Monitor network to assess impact on customer traffic and report findings.
• Engage with project managers to resolve unclear requirements.
• Facilitate approvals to progress service requests.
