Job summary

The Chicago Transit Authority seeks an experienced network engineer to install, configure, administer, monitor, and maintain its enterprise network infrastructure. You will troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues while supporting upgrades and major infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities include monitoring performance, applying changes per standards, and documenting topology and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS/EE or related field with 3 years of network experience.
  • Experience with enterprise routing, switching, wireless, firewall, and WAN tech.
  • CCNA at minimum; CCNP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Support routers, switches, wireless controllers, firewalls and related equipment.
  • Perform firmware updates, software upgrades, and patches.
  • Monitor performance and availability with enterprise tools.
  • Apply configuration changes per standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex network incidents and coordinate with providers.
  • Document configurations, standards, and topology information.
  • Assist with network upgrades and technology refresh projects.
