Job summary

FiberLight, LLC is seeking a Network Engineer I to support design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s network infrastructure in Allen, TX. You will work under senior engineers to ensure stability, security, and scalability of the network and gain hands-on experience with routing protocols, basic automation, and Layer 2 networking.

You will learn to configure devices, participate in monitoring, and document network designs while collaborating with remote Technicians on site.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant experience in networking or telecommunications (internships count).
• Layer 1: troubleshoot physical network equipment and cabling.
• Layer 2: understanding MPLS and EVPL.
• Layer 3: basic familiarity with BGP, OSPF, IS-IS routing.
• Introductory knowledge of Python and Ansible for automation.
• Awareness of GitHub for version control.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience documenting processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructures.
• Configure network devices per process documents.
• Help configure and troubleshoot routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS).
• Support simple network automation scripts using Python and Ansible.
• Learn to use GitHub for version control and collaboration on network projects.
• Participate in network performance monitoring and basic optimization.
• Assist in maintaining network security and compliance with standards.
• Document network configurations and procedures.
