Job summary

Our client, a growing telecommunications infrastructure company, seeks a Senior Network Engineer for an on-site role in the Dallas‑Fort Worth Metroplex (Allen, TX area). You will design, expand, secure, and support a high-performance telecom network infrastructure across large-scale routing, MPLS, and Layer 2/3 architectures.

The role requires 10+ years with routing protocols, experience with Juniper and Cisco, and strong leadership to mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with large-scale network environments.
  • Deep expertise in BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS routing.
  • Experience with Layer 2/Layer 3 and MPLS networks.
  • Experience with Juniper and Cisco platforms.
  • Industry certifications such as JNCIS/JNCIP/CCNP/CCIE preferred.

Job description

Our client is a growing telecommunications infrastructure company seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join its team in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This is an on-site role based in the Allen, TX area, and candidates must currently be located in the DFW Metroplex.

The Senior Network Engineer will play a key role in designing, expanding, securing, and supporting a high-performance telecom network infrastructure. This person will work across large-scale routing, MPLS, Layer 2/Layer 3 architecture, backbone connectivity, fiber-optic service delivery, network resiliency, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities
  • Architect, deploy, and manage large-scale network infrastructures aligned with company standards and future growth initiatives.
  • Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot core routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS.
  • Implement and support expansive Layer 3 and MPLS environments.
  • Apply strong knowledge of fiber-optic service delivery and backbone connectivity to improve resiliency and reliability.
  • Perform routine and advanced network maintenance, including upgrades, patches, and security hardening.
  • Conduct network modeling, analysis, and forecasting to maintain a reliable, high-performance network ecosystem.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Monitor and improve network performance through proactive analysis and optimization.
  • Support network security practices and ensure alignment with industry best practices.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience working with large-scale network environments.
  • Deep expertise with routing protocols includingBGP, OSPF, and IS-IS.
  • Proven experience with Layer 2, Layer 3, and MPLS network architectures.
  • Experience working with major network platforms such as Juniper and Cisco.
  • Strong understanding of network security technologies and best practices.
  • Experience in telecom, ISP, carrier, fiber, backbone, or service provider network environments preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive engineering mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering and operations teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as JNCIS, JNCIP, CCNP, or CCIE are highly preferred.
