Job summary

Augusta University is seeking a Network Engineer 1 to ensure the stability, security, and performance of data, voice, video, and wireless network services across the campus. The role designs, implements, supports, and maintains LAN/WAN infrastructure with emphasis on reliability and security.

The candidate will install, monitor, and optimize networks, participate in upgrades, and produce detailed network documentation for ongoing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with two years of experience administering complex LAN/WAN environments.
• Solid background in network administration and architecture.
• Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools such as SolarWinds.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, document, and maintain network equipment and systems according to approved standards.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement timely resolutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, network diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.
• Strengthen security by identifying vulnerabilities and mitigating cyber threats.
• Manage firewalls, internet connectivity, and security policies.
• Respond to support tickets and analyze network performance to drive improvements.
