Job summary

Columbia Technology Partners seeks a Network Engineer 1 to design, implement, and maintain enterprise network environments across datacenter and LANs. You will work hands-on with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs while securing network configurations and supporting virtualization environments.

The role emphasizes on-call support, documentation, and collaboration across teams to ensure reliable performance and security in complex environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification or equivalent.
• 3+ years in network engineering including LAN design, architecture, and security.

Responsibilities

• Support design, implementation, and maintenance of network architecture across LAN and datacenter environments.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Monitor network performance and security, identifying and resolving issues as needed.
• Implement and maintain secure network configurations, including VPNs and access controls.
• Work with TCP/IP protocols, routing, and switching to ensure optimal network functionality.
• Support firewall configurations and enforce network security boundaries.
• Perform packet analysis and assist with troubleshooting network traffic issues.
• Maintain documentation and track work using ticketing systems.
• Support virtualization environments, including VMware and container-based solutions.
• Participate in on‑call support and live operational environments.
