Job summary

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a Network Engineer 1 to design, implement, and maintain enterprise network environments in Utah. You will work hands-on with network hardware, support datacenter infrastructure, and help secure and optimize performance across complex systems.

The role requires DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (or equivalent), Cisco routers/switches, IPSEC VPNs, and a minimum of 3 years in network engineering with LAN design and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; two years of additional relevant experience may substitute the degree
• Minimum 3 years of experience in network engineering, including LAN design, architecture, and security
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (or equivalent)
• Experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and IPSEC VPNs

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain network architecture across LAN and datacenter environments
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
• Monitor network performance and security, identifying and resolving issues as needed
• Implement and maintain secure network configurations, including VPNs and access controls
• Work with TCP/IP protocols, routing, and switching to ensure optimal network functionality
• Support firewall configurations and enforce network security boundaries
• Perform packet analysis and assist with troubleshooting network traffic issues
• Maintain documentation and track work using ticketing systems
• Support virtualization environments, including VMware and container-based solutions
• Participate in on-call support and live operational environments
