Augusta University in Georgia is seeking a Network Engineer II to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house data, video, voice and wireless network services. You will plan, design, and develop LANs and WANs across the organization, and support installation, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of all network hardware and software.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree and four years of experience; CCNA is desirable and CCNP preferred.
The Network Engineer 2 role is to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house data, video, voice and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. In addition, the position will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training where required.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of experience administering complex LAN/WAN environments.
CCNA level certification desirable. CCNP preferred.
Preferred Experience:
KNOWLEDGE
Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including routers, switches (layer 2/3), firewalls, remote access, DNS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLAN, QoS, DSL, Frame Relay, and Metro Ethernet. Knowledge of core routing and switching design principles, best practices, and related technologies. Experience with network security principles, and general network management best practices. Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, and WLAN design and implementation. Experience designing, implementing, managing and supporting enterprise level IP networks that include support of a heterogeneous distributed desktop computing environment required.
SKILLS
Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience. Application support experience with network monitoring and analysis software.
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits.
Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B13
Salary: Minimum $68,500/annual - Midpoint: $87,300/annual
Salary to be commensurate with the qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
