Lockheed Martin is seeking an engineer to provide first-line operational support for mission-critical spacecraft network systems. You will monitor health, respond to alerts, and perform initial troubleshooting to isolate outages and restore services quickly.

Responsibilities include configuration checks, system verifications, and routine updates under CM procedures. You will track changes and assist with validated modifications while documenting lessons learned for the team.

Formación

• Experience with Juniper and Cisco routers and switches, VLANs, firewalls, and general network administration.
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs and secure configuration/hardening practices.
• Foundational knowledge of network design, TCP/IP, and routing protocols.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within engineering teams; proficiency with Visio, SPLIT, or similiar tools.
• Security+ Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
• Active DoD Secret clearance required

• Contributes to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and documenting lessons learned for the engineering team.

Escalates complex problems to senior engineers as needed while ensuring timely restoration of network services.
Maintains day-to-day network operational readiness by executing routine tasks such as configuration checks, system verifications, and basic hardware or software updates under established procedures. Ensures all operational network documentation remains accurate, complete, and compliant with configuration management (CM) requirements.
Supports ongoing sustainment activities by tracking system changes, updating topology diagrams and procedures, and assisting with validation of approved modifications. Contributes to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and documenting lessons learned for the engineering team.
Basic Qualifications

• Experience with Juniper and Cisco routers and switches, VLANs, firewalls, and general network administration.
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs and secure configuration/hardening practices.
• Foundational knowledge of network design, TCP/IP, and routing protocols.

Desired Skills

• Experience with SolarWinds or similar network monitoring and management platforms.
• Knowledge of classified network environments, COMSEC, and TACLANE encryptors.
• Operating system experience with Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Certifications in Cisco, Juniper, or Palo Alto technologies.
• Ability to work effectively in agile, collaborative engineering teams.
  

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00

• Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
• For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
