Job summary

Honest Networks is hiring a Network Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. This hybrid, full-time role runs 8am-4pm Tuesday-Saturday and requires working from our New York City office a couple days a week.

Based in the tri-state area, you will handle rapid troubleshooting, direct customer communications, and advanced network problem solving, supporting the lead engineer and ensuring reliable internet service.

Qualifications

• Experience with IP protocols and dynamic routing (TCP/UDP, OSPF/BGP).
• Strong familiarity with fiber optic networking and SFP modules.
• Comfortable in command line environments with Cisco/Juniper gear; Mikrotik a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to support inquiries quickly and professionally.
• Communicate with customers via phone, text, web chat, and email.
• Advanced troubleshooting of Wi-Fi and WAN/LAN issues.
• Provide direct support to the lead engineer.
• Work from the NYC area office a couple days per week; hybrid schedule.

About The Role

Honest Networks is hiring a Network Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. This is a hybrid, full-time position. The hours for this full-time position would be 8am-4pm from Tuesday-Saturday. Please do not apply if you are not able to work from our New York City office a couple days a week.

Primary Responsibilities

• Responding quickly and thoughtfully to incoming support inquiries and issues.
• Communicating directly with existing and prospective customers via phone, text, web chat, and email.
• Advanced troubleshooting of Wi‑Fi and other WAN/LAN networking issues.
• Providing direct support to the lead engineer.
• This job is not remote and is based in either New Jersey, New York, Connecticut or Philadelphia.

Requirements

Technical Skills

• Working knowledge of IP protocols (TCP/UDP), dynamic routing, OSPF/BGP
• Strong familiarity with fiber optic networking (working with SFP modules, SM fiber cabling).
• Comfortable working in command line environments with Cisco/Juniper, bonus: Mikrotik.
• Working knowledge of OSI model.
• Experience with network monitoring software preferred.
• Familiarity with wireless broadband radio and fiber networks.
